Jan 11 - Jan.26 2025

Lights and shadows breathe quietly in everyday life, revealing their beauty and evoking memories in fleeting moments. The shifting patterns of tree shadows on shoji screens, the scenery glimpsed through blinds, or the lights glowing in apartment windows at night—all weave together the stories of lights and shadows in daily existence.

This exhibition captures serene scenes shaped by lights and shadows using traditional materials such as sumi ink, washi paper, and mineral pigments. Through these timeless techniques, it delicately portrays the moments when light streams in and shadows form, evoking the flow of time and memories hidden within ordinary life.

The landscapes born from the interplay of lights and shadows awaken past memories and sensations in the viewer, weaving new narratives in their minds. By portraying the beauty of lights and shadows, along with the layers of memories and stories beneath them, the exhibition merges traditional methods with contemporary sensibilities to express the subtle yet profound scenes found in the unnoticed moments of everyday life.
